Having played high level football in Texas for 11 years, I switched to volleyball in Junior College and absolutely fell in love with the sport. At Texas A&M, I played with the Men's Club team my last year in college... which as you could imagine was interesting since the ONLY recognized Men's sport in Texas was football. Upon graduating, I entered corporate America in semiconductor process and testing in Austin where over the next 15 years or so I played roughly 5 nights a week in Corporate Leagues, Indoor Rec, and Beach in doubles, triples, quad's and 6's, Men's and Co-Ed.
After getting married and starting a wonderful family, my career took us to the Bay Area in Northern California where I helped coach my oldest daughter in a NorCal 14U club for a couple of seasons. Although one of my greatest experiences was coordinating the regional Special Olympics Volleyball tournament. At last my engineering career has led us to Oregon where for the last 4 years I have been coaching 12U girls for our local club in Newberg.
As we became more familiar with the volleyball clubs in the area through skills clinics and through discussions with friends who had girls on Athena teams, my entire family fell in love with the ethics, the values and the technical skills training that we experienced from the AthenaVBC program. Because of this, I wanted my children to become a part of this program and finally this season, I now get to help shape young athletes lives with Athena and hopefully spark the same passion that I have for this amazing game.I look forward to supporting your children's volleyball dreams.
