Wendy Stammer is a 1988 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising Journalism. Her college career includes an All-Louisiana team award, two All-SEC awards and LSU's first ever NCAA All-American award. After her collegiate career, Wendy went on to play professionally for 18 years which landed her in Portland in 1989 with the Portland Spikers. Wendy played indoor professionally in the United States, Italy and Germany spanning from 1988-1998. Her beach career started with the Bud Light Pro Beach quads tour in 1994 and ended with the AVP beach doubles tour in 2005 with stints on the FIVB international doubles tour.
Currently, Wendy just finished her 17th year as the head volleyball coach of the Lakeridge Pacers who won the 2013 OSAA 6A state championship. Wendy was named both the 2013 TRL Coach of the Year and Oregon's 6A Coach of the Year. Along with club volleyball, Wendy started the "Portland Junior Beach" program in 2012, runs "ABC" camps and academies with Lena Chan and is a private lesson coach for over 20 years. In her free time, Wendy is a jewelry designer and a ceramic artist with work in Forest Grove's Valley Art Gallery.
Wendy has coached for Athena for 12 years.
