Matt grew up in Pennsylvania where he played middle and right side for Central York High School. He then went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University, where he played club volleyball and won a silver medal at D1AA Nationals his senior year. He then moved to Oregon after graduation to work for Lam Research as a Program Manager responsible for costing and supply chain readiness within product development. After being introduced to Athena, his first role with the club was with Ajax 14 Gold. From there, he became involved with Ajax 18 Gold and Athena 17 Gold, serving as assistant for the latter in 2022/23. His proudest achievement came last year as assistant coach for Athena 17 Gold as the team won gold in the American division at USAV Nationals. This year, he is very excited to be back with Ajax to coach 18 Gold. In his free time, Matt likes to golf, go to Blazer games, and watch the Padres.
