ATHENAVB and AJAXVB provides a holistic developmental experience with caring and knowledgeable coaches, our ”whole athlete” philosophy, and the support of LOVB – our national partner with the same vision.
Talent is built in the right conditions. Advanced technical training, positive coaching and necessary obstacles/ challenges form this crucible of growth. We choose the sport of volleyball to develop skills and character on the court so that we can also be stronger people off the court.

Parakaleo is a call to action – for our players and community to call alongside and uplift one another.
Our approach to technical training and coaching is in a manner of encouragement and positivity. We find self motivated, team oriented, and disciplined players grow and thrive in this environment - where the process and journey are as important as the win. Positive reinforcement yields long term change. We love the game of volleyball and we want to stoke a lifelong love and passion for this sport.
Volleyball is a team sport, and individual success is dependent on the team’s success. The interpersonal and interrelational lessons acquired in being a great teammate are important learnings to take into society. We model and grow a community that builds up others.

We collaborate and partner with LOVB, where we provide the best in training, recruiting, and service. ATHENAVB and AJAXVB will be the home club for a professional team in Portland - furthering the game of volleyball in Portland by growing and highlighting local and national role models.
